A South African Air Force Hawk lead-in fighter trainer aircraft has been damaged in an incident at the Air Force Base in Swartkop, the defence department said on Friday.The aircraft overran the runway during a routine training flight at 9.15pm on Wednesday, it said in a statement. There was minor damage to the undercarriage.
"The crew did not sustain any injuries and a board of inquiry has since been convened to investigate the incident further," it said.
