Malema OraniaANC Youth League president Julius Malema and some 14 other youth league delegates are planning to visit Orania in the Northern Cape, a spokesman for the white Afrikaner enclave said on Wednesday.

Chief executive of the Orania Movement Frans de Klerk said the youth league had asked for the meeting to be held on Saturday.

De Klerk said a delegation of Orania residents, including the Freedom Front Plus youth were expected to meet in Orania's auditorium with the ANCYL.

It would be a closed meeting, but there would be a media briefing afterwards.

Orania is about 164km from Kimberley and 200km from Bloemfontein on the southern bank of the Orange River.

The village, originally built and used by the department of water affairs, stood empty and neglected for several years. It was now known as a gathering place for Afrikaners.

According to a statement issued by the ANCYL in the Northern Cape, Malema was expected to have "a dialogue" with the Freedom Front Plus youth at Orania.

"This is part of the ongoing programme of the youth league to engage with minorities as part of the initiative to build one nation and a common sense of patriotism," the statement read.
