An elderly woman was stabbed eight times by an intruder on a farm in Chrissiesmeer, outside Ermelo, early on Thursday, said Limpopo police.Superintendent Abie Khoabane said a man wearing a balaclava broke a window to gain entry to the house on the farm Steenkopsaam at 1.30am.
He stabbed the 65-year-old woman living there eight times before fleeing, empty-handed. He did not injure another woman, aged 40, who also lived in the house.
The 65-year-old woman was being treated in hospital.
