Cuban President Raul Castro has met with his Namibian counterpart Hifkepunye Pohamba on the last day of his trip to the country. The trip is Castro's first to Namibia since he became president in 2006.
The Cuban leader honored veterans of Namibia's war for independence and met with former president Sam Nujoma during his two-day visit to the southern African country.
The two countries have had close relations since Namibia's war for independence from South Africa, when Cuban troops in neighboring Angola helped Namibian forces.
Castro's African tour has also taken him to Algeria. He leaves Monday for Angola, where he is expected to spend two days.
